\Kumamoto Prefecture's traditional crafts, "Kurumi Uchiwa" and "Yamaga Toro," are now available!/

Keihan Mall

We extend our deepest sympathies to all those affected by the 2026 Kumamoto Earthquake

I pray for the swift recovery of the affected areas

We will be holding summer decoration displays at Keihan City Mall, Keihan Mall, Hirakata Mall, and KUZUHA MALL!

Appearing at Keihan Mall are "Kurumi Uchiwa" and "Yamaga Toro," traditional crafts from Yamaga City, Kumamoto Prefecture, with a history of over 400 years. As the name suggests, these traditional fans, whose name means "people coming," have been considered auspicious symbols of business prosperity, and the lanterns, which emit a fantastical glow, will add color to the summer!

• Exhibition period: August 7th (Fri) - August 31st (Mon)

• Exhibition location: Main building, 1st floor, front display space

This initiative was realized through a collaboration with Matsuya Co., Ltd., which endorsed their regional co-creation efforts

By using the decorations from Matsuya Ginza in four malls along the Keihan railway line, we propose a circular economy approach to decoration by reusing interior decorations that tend to be disposable after a single use

The items being reused this time are the "Kurumi Uchiwa" (fan), produced by Matsuya and adorned with the traditional Kumamoto flowers known as the Higo Rokka, and the "Yamaga Lantern," which is intricately crafted using handmade Japanese paper and a small amount of glue

Be sure to visit the other three malls as well and experience the cool summer atmosphere with our special displays!
