April flowers
It's the start of a new chapter in life, and I want to say a big thank you to everyone who's working hard in a new environment (and of course, to those who are continuing as before!)
During this busy time of year, these cute items can bring a sense of calm when displayed in your room
Introducing the seasonal flower, the gerbera
Gerberas are flowers that can be found in flower shops all year round, regardless of the season
They come in a wide variety of colors, shapes, and sizes, and are always relatively inexpensive to obtain
The history of gerberas is surprisingly recent; they only arrived in Japan during the Taisho era, which is fairly recent
And, although this is also a recent development, "Gerbera Day" was established in 2005
Every year, April 18th is Gerbera Day. This year it falls on a Saturday
This commemorative day was chosen because of the wordplay "418 de yoi hana" (418 means good flower) and because April is the peak season for gerbera shipments
As you start a new life and your days become hectic, why not decorate your home with a single gerbera to add a touch of beauty?
If you're only using one flower, you don't need a vase!
Using your favorite beverage bottle or a glass container that once held pudding, these dishes can somehow look stylish even when placed in tableware that's been gathering dust at home
